This week is the Call to Action for Missing and Murdered Indigneous Girls and Women. Add your voice to the collective call to bring an end to these injustices. Reach out to your local MLA and educate yourself for change.

Royal Victoria Marathon Volunteer Opportunity! The Royal Victoria Marathon is looking for Route Marshals for Sunday, October 9th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Route Marshall’s role is to ensure the participants stay on track and that any vehicle or pedestrian is informed of what is going on. Who Can Become a Scientist? The University of Victoria's Let's Talk Science will be putting on a virtual symposium that discusses equity, diversity, and inclusion issues in science. In this second edition, they will reflect on the traditional image of scientists and the importance of leveraging support from role models and mentors to increase diversity in STEM. Heritage Acres and The Vancouver Island Model Engineers are hosting “The Halloween Pumpkin Express”. They are DESPERATE!! Volunteers are needed for supervising Halloween activities, and getting props ready prior to the event! Sunday, October 16th from 10:30-2:30, setting up graveyard ghosts, witches and games.
