GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Welcome to all of the students and staff, both new and returning! We are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead with everyone! These daily announcements will provide information and updates on what is happening in the hive. Please check our other information sources as well, such as Instagram (@stellyssd63), website (www.stellys.saanichschools.ca), weekly principal email, and other School Messenger messages sent separately periodically.
Parents, if you are needing to report your student absent or late due to illness, appointments, family, etc, please email stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone in to leave a message at 250-652-4401, press option 1.
Music Classes are starting up:
- Choir > Fri. Sept. 11th (during lunch in the band room)
- Jazz Band > Mon. Sept. 14th (after school 3:15-4:30pm in the band room)
- Junior Band > Monday, Wednesday and Friday (block 1 class)
Are you in Yearbook, or interested in knowing more? Monday September 14th at lunch is our first class in Computer lab 47. See you there!
If you are a student who was confirmed on the school bus over the summer, we have your bus card! Please come to the foyer in front of the main office to sign for yours. Grade 9 and 10, pickup is today at lunch, grade 11 and 12, pickup is tomorrow at lunch.
Your students daily attendance is now live in Brightspace. Please see the district website for information and a video on how to access Brightspace: https://saanichschools.ca/d2l-brightspace
Students returning from last year, did you leave items in your locker? If so, we have some bags in the front foyer with locker numbers on them that have the contents. Please claim as soon as possible - they will be donated at the end of the month.
Cafeteria Service will be starting up on Tuesday the 15th at break with some breakfast items available. Wednesday, they will have limited menu items for break and at lunch.
The Stelly's Social Studies department has a few spaces left for students interested in participating in our Spring 2027 trip. We are attending the 110th anniversary ceremonies for the Battle of Vimy Ridge in France and visiting Amsterdam, Paris, and places in Belgium. If any student in grade 9-12 is interested in learning more about this once in a lifetime opportunity, please see Ms. Wallace in room 30 or Mr. Loenen in room 19 as soon as possible or contact us by email. The final deadline is approaching fast.

Wednesday September 30 > National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (school not in session)
GRAD 2027
For any parents interested in finding out more about the After Grad planning and how you can be involved, there is a “handover” meeting on Thursday September 24th at 7pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. Our outgoing 2026 grad parents will be sharing information and handing over the reins to our 2027 grad parents. Please come out and consider being a part of the planning committee for this amazing Dry Grad event that happens after the prom on June 29th.
The first Scholarship meeting is happening on Tuesday September 22nd. Stay tuned closer to the date for location.
