GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

For any students wishing to park in the school parking lot, you are required to have a decal displayed in your windshield. You will need to complete the appropriate paperwork which is available in the main office. Students are not permitted to park in any spot marked ‘Reserved’ or ‘Visitor’ at any time - these are all assigned spaces so please don’t displace our staff and visitors.

Attention Grade 9 French Immersion students! There will be an information session about a trip to Québec happening this May. Please come with your friends today at lunch in Room 11 to find out more.

For Parents & Guardians: If your student will be absent, late or leaving early during school hours, we ask that you email stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca to notify us so that we can update your students’ record appropriately. You may also phone in absences to 250-652-4401 (select option 1)

For those of you new to the school, or wanting to know where to pay for school activities/opportunities, our student fee payment portal is where it’s at (including, but not limited to, textbook deposit, activity fee, and yearbook purchase). You can find the link here - just follow the instructions for signing up or signing in. Please note that it’s recommended that yearbooks are pre-purchased prior to Spring Break to ensure your student gets one if they want one - we only order a few extras, so don’t miss out!

Do you know a graduate from 2025? Their diplomas are ready for pickup in the main office! Please have them stop by to pick them up or contact the school office to arrange mailing (stellys@saanichschools.ca).

ATHLETICS

The Junior and Senior Boys Soccer teams will have their tryouts today and Thursday this week after school. Please note that Thursday is early dismissal and tryouts start at 2:30. See you on the back field.

Stelly’s Aquatics Team is having their first meeting today at lunch in room 49. Please attend if you’re interested in joining the team!

GRAD 2026

First Scholarship Meeting is on Wednesday September 17th at lunch in room 49.

Are you a parent of a student graduating in June 2026? Here's your chance to join the planning committee for the After Grad Event happening after the Recognition Ceremony on June 25, 2026! This is the first meeting of the year where you will have parents of 2025 grads in attendance to ask questions and share information before you take over to plan your own event! Come out to the Stelly's Learning Commons at 7pm on Wednesday September 17th and see what it's all about! The more people involved, the easier the planning and final event is, so please consider attending. We look forward to seeing you there!

CAREER CENTRE

If you are a student currently working and interested in earning work experience credits, please visit the Career Centre as soon as possible.

SISP INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS

MANDATORY MEETING - Wednesday September 10: There will be a short meeting for all international students during lunch block in classroom 48 to discuss homestay.  Everyone must attend.  We look forward to seeing everyone there!

WHALE WATCHING SEPTEMBER 22 - Consent forms now due! Registered students must return your consent forms to the International Office this week.
