GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

The Indigenous leadership class will be selling orange t-shirts in the main foyer today and Friday for Orange Shirt Day. The cost is $15.

Book club will meet today at lunch in the Learning Commons.

Today is Cross Country's first race! Good luck to all the participants!

The Social Studies department is hosting an All Candidates Debate for the upcoming Provincial Election.  On Thursday, October 3 in blocks 3 and 4, come to the MPR to hear from the three candidates for the Saanich North and the Islands electoral district.  Check with your teachers to see if your class is attending or if you can come on your own to learn about the people who want to be your representative in our provincial government.

Tomorrow, all of our staff and students are encouraged to wear an Orange Shirt to honour the children who were sent away to Indian Residential Schools. At Stelly’s, we hold space in our classrooms and school for our students to learn more about Residential Schools and reflect on its continued impact. October 8 - Parents Advisory Council Meeting at 6:30pm (in-person in the Learning Commons or virtually via MS Teams) - come on out and join in the discussion and decisions on how we’re going to support our students in their educational & extra-curricular paths.

GRAD 2025

Mark your calendars! The Parent After Grad Committee is having a bottle drive this Saturday the 28th from 9am until noon! Bring us all your refundables and help support the graduating class of 2025! We are always looking for volunteers to help sort so if you are a grad parent or a grad, please come out and volunteer with us!

ATHLETICS

Senior Boys Soccer team have a game today at Centennial Park, kickoff is at 3:30pm. Come out and cheer them on!

Junior A/B Girls have a volleyball practice today from 3:15 to 4:45 today.

Senior Girls Volleyball team have a practice today from 3:15 to 4:45 today.

CAREER CENTRE

The Career Centre is hosting a Grand RE-opening party today at lunch break. Come in to say hello, meet Heidi and Katherine, have a treat (until they're gone), enter to win a SD63 hat and guess how many candies are in the jar! Tunes will be played. See you there!

Camosun is hosting Health Exploration day for Grade 12's keen on exploring careers in health care and are interested in taking a Dual Credit course to get a jump start on the course load. The date is Wednesday, October 16th and it runs 9:30am to noon. Interested? Forms are in the Career Centre.

BC's next election is scheduled for October 19th. Did you know that Elections BC is hiring high school students as election officials? Pay is $325 per day! If you're 15 and older, interested in community service, impartial and good with technology you should check it out!
