GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Today is the last day to place a photo order and have it shipped to the school for free. Any orders placed starting tomorrow will be shipped with retake day packages. Students and families can scan their QR codes on the card given out on picture day to view their photos and order, or enter their access code on Artona’s website: View and Order. 

For any students who registered for the school bus at the end of June or beginning of summer, your bus passes are now available for pickup in the main office. They do need to be signed for to say you received it, so we are unable to distribute during first block. Please check in at the office to see if yours is in.

Student Verification Information Forms are now overdue. Students, if you have not received yours yet, please come by the main office to pick one up - it is very important that we have an updated copy each year, regardless whether there are changes or not. Each one needs to be signed by a parent or legal guardian and returned to the office asap. 

For Parents & Guardians: If your student will be absent, late or leaving early during school hours, we ask that you email stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca to notify us so that we can update your students’ record appropriately. You may also phone in absences to 250-652-4401 (select option 1).

For those of you new to the school, or wanting to know where to pay for school activities/opportunities, our student fee payment portal is where it’s at (including, but not limited to, textbook deposit, activity fee, and yearbook purchase). You can find the link here - just follow the instructions for signing up or signing in. Please note that it’s recommended that yearbooks are pre-purchased prior to Spring Break to ensure your student gets one if they want one - we only order a few extras, so don’t miss out!

CLUBS & CLASSES

Would you like to go kayaking in the protected waters of Brentwood Bay this Friday or next Friday after school? We have room for a few more students to join this kayaking session. Please see Mr. Siebert in room 40 today at lunch (or anytime) you can drop by for more information.

ATHLETICS

Good luck to the Senior Boys Soccer Team who have their first league game of the season today after school against Esquimalt at Centennial Park! Go Stingers!

GRAD 2026

Grad Photo booking is now open! Artona’s mobile studio will be at the school from October 11th to 16th and bookings can be made through their website (https://artona.com/bookings). There is also a QR code posted on the Grad board in the main foyer which also works to book your sitting. 

CAREER CENTRE

If you are a student currently working and interested in earning work experience credits, please visit the Career Centre by Friday, September 26th.

• Expression of Interest for the Tofino Surfing/Bear Watching Trip October 8-10, 2025 closes today at noon.
• Mandatory International Program Meeting and Pizza Lunch in the Learning Commons today during lunch block for all international students

Friday September 19

• Tofino Trip Lottery. Selected students will be notified by email from the SISP office.

Monday September 22 

• Non-Instructional Day
• Whale Watching Trip. Students going whale watching are to meet at the front of the school at 8:25am.

Tuesday September 23

• Mandatory meeting for Tofino Trip Students during lunch block in classroom 9.
