GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Today, the Social Studies department will be hosting a multi-media presentation about the Holodomor, a genocide in Ukraine in the 1930's. Students will be experiencing the presentation in their classes. Senior students that do not have Social Studies until second semester are invited to attend, with teachers' permission, in block 3 or 4 today. Please see Mrs. Wallace in room 30 to sign up for this rare experience.
School photos & student cards have arrived! For those without a block 1 class, or if you did not receive your package, please come to the main office during the breaks or lunch to pick yours up.
The Stelly's Fall order for school merch is now open! Get yourself a cozy hoodie, comfy sweats or a trendy Stelly's tote to rock your Stinger pride! Orders over $50 will receive a free Stelly's tumbler! Links to the website can be found posted around the school or linked on The Hive's Instagram.
EVENTS
All-school Halloween Dance is on October 26th from 6:30 to 9:30! Tickets are $5 each and available in the main foyer from the 19th to 26th. Costumes are encouraged!
ATHLETICS
Rowing practice tomorrow (Saturday) at 12:30pm
Come out and cheer on your Senior Girls volleyball team at their home opener game on Tuesday October 10th in the big gym! Games start at 6pm! Go Stingers!

CAREER CENTRE
Looking to log some volunteer hours and like free snacks? The Greater Victoria Green Team is looking for extra hands to do some invasive plant removal On October 14th and October 22nd. All tools provided.
The Royal Canadian Navy is hosting "Sailor For A Day" on October 20th. Try a day in the life of a sailor! Limited spots available. Grades 9-12 welcome! Sign up through the QR code on the poster to get your spot!
Field Trip alert! Are you interested in a career in Early Learning & Care AKA ELC? You should come on the field trip to Camosun on October 11th! This is a great way to learn more about the Health Care Programs offered at Camosun College. Permission forms are available now in the Career Centre and due today.
University of Victoria is currently accepting applications until October 7th for "TechU" - programs for high school students to get hands-on experience in tech, design and business, by designing their own product. Programs run Tuesday evenings from Oct 17-Dec 5. Apply now!
