GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Any Gr 9-12's interested in writing the University of Waterloo Canadian Senior or Canadian Intermediate Math Contests?  If you are, please see Mrs Hilton in room 37 by Thursday Oct 17th to sign up.

The Harvest Hoedown Dance is coming up on Wednesday October 16th from 6:30-9:30pm. Tickets are for sale at lunch in the main foyer for $5 each. Everyone is welcome! 

Are you looking for some volunteer hours or to have fun at the beach? Join us for a beach cleanup on Saturday, October 26th at Island View Beach! All equipment will be provided, and anyone is welcome. Bring your friends and sign up in your grade level Google Classroom!

Come on down to the Textiles Room at lunch if you feel like doing some creative activities, bring your projects or talk to Mrs. Vop about starting one.

The FREE Clothing Rack is overflowing with some great items. See something you like? Take it and wear it. If you have some clothes to donate, please drop them off to Mrs. Vop or the Textiles room.

Twilight fans—get ready to go back to the place where your obsession began. Leanne Hockley from Victoria, author of Something About Alexa, is coming to Stelly's on October 30  during block 3! Book signing and books for purchase for $15.  Please come with the correct change. Please see Ms. Pacheco McKinnon in the Learning Commons by October 23 if you are interested in attending.

School photos: For those families that ordered online, we have some that have arrived and are in the office available for pickup.

Speaking of photos, we still have some student proofs in the office that haven’t been picked up yet. If you have not received your proof package, please stop by the office.

IMPORTANT DATES COMING UP

October 16 - Harvest Hoedown Dance 6:30 -  9:30pm. Tickets are $5 each and available to buy from October 8th to 16th in the main foyer at lunch. Don’t miss out!

October 17 - 6 to 7:30pm Grad Info Night for parents of 2025 Grads, followed by the Parent After Grad Meeting from 7:30-8:30pm. All happening in the Multi-Purpose Room. Hope to see you all there!

October 18 - Student Vote (in Learning Commons during blocks 1 and 2)

October 25 - Non-Instructional Day (no classes in session)

October 28 - Long Block (Copernican) schedule: BLK 1 AM, BLK 3 PM

October 29 - Photo Retake Day

GRAD 2025

October 16 - Scholarship meeting at lunch in room 49

October 17 – Grad Parent Information Session from 6-7:30pm. This session is school-led with information regarding your student’s graduation success, such as diploma verification, post-secondary opportunities, timelines, etc.

***NEW DATE***October 17 – Parent After Grad Committee Meeting from 7:30-8:30pm (please note that the After Grad meeting originally scheduled for October 16th has been rescheduled to the 17th ). The After Grad event takes many volunteers and we would love to have as many people attend as possible so the graduates can enjoy a successful evening! Please consider staying for the whole evening.

The online booking is officially open for grads to schedule their Grad photos (October 23 to November 1st, by appointment)! The online booking link is here. Please note there is no 8-digit code, parents can search by city (Saanichton) and province.

CAREER CENTRE

University of Toronto is hosting an Info Session on Wednesday, October 30th from 6-7:30pm at St. Michaels School in Victoria. Step into the world of Canada's flagship university and connect with their team to learn ore about the opportunities awaiting you.

SISP INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS

Seattle Trip Meeting -   Wednesday October 16  in the Learning Commons during lunch block.  All students going on the Seattle trip are required to attend.

SISP Program Meeting and Pizza Lunch - Thursday October 17 in the Learning Commons during lunch block.  All SISP international students are required to attend.
