GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

The Social Studies department is hosting an All Candidates Debate for the upcoming Provincial Election.  On Thursday, October 3 in blocks 3 and 4, come to the MPR to hear from the three candidates for the Saanich North and the Islands electoral district.  Check with your teachers to see if your class is attending or if you can come on your own to learn about the people who want to be your representative in our provincial government.

Are you interested in going on a fabulous adventure to Portugal and Spain this upcoming March? Please go see Ms Lizama in room 49 to pick up an information package

October 8 - Parents Advisory Council Meeting at 6:30pm (in-person in the Learning Commons or virtually via MS Teams) - come on out and join in the discussion and decisions on how we’re going to support our students in their educational & extra-curricular paths.

CAREER CENTRE

Police Camp is happening the first week of March Break 2025! Interested? Kim Basi and Central Saanich police officer Tristan Gentile are coming to Stelly's this Thursday, October 3rd for an information session at lunch in the Career Centre. Want to learn more about Police Camp? Check the poster on the Career Board!

Congratulations to II Elliot for winning the hat and Sophia Hoenish for guessing the amount of candies in a jar at the Career Centre Re-Opening Party.

Interested in working in Health Care? Camosun is hosting Health Exploration day for Grade 12's keen on exploring careers in health care and are interested in taking a Dual Credit course to get a jump start on the course load. The date is Wednesday, October 16th and it runs 9:30am to noon. Interested? Forms are in the Career Centre.

Youth In The Booth! BC's next election is scheduled for October 19th. Did you know that Elections BC is hiring high school students as election officials? Pay is $325 per day! There's a poster on the Career Board with a QR code to scan for more info

SISP INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS

Friday October 4 - Whale Watching - SISP has arranged for a school bus to take all whale watching students from Stelly's down to the catamaran dock. Students going whale watching are to meet Ms. Kim Ewer at the front of the school at 10:20 am to board the bus.
