GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Have you picked up your school bus pass? Especially those in grades 11 and 12, please come to the main office to see if yours is in! We still have lots that haven’t been signed for, so please check with us.

Global Gala is coming up on November 23rd from 5-8:30pm. Tickets are $15 and available from students in Global Perspectives 11/12 and at the door (children 12 & under are free)! More details to come! Everyone is welcome!  

Immunization consent packages for grade 9 students will be sent home this week from the school. They will need to be completed and returned to the school office in a sealed envelope as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact the local Peninsula Health Unit at 250-544-2400.

ATHLETICS

Junior Boys Basketball have a practice this Friday from 3-4:30pm. The team roster is posted by the gym.

CAREER CENTRE

Browns Social House is hiring at their Uptown location. They are currently seeking Hosts and Expeditors. Part time shifts are available working nights and weekends and wage starts at $20.75 an hour. Perfect opportunity for someone looking to gain experience working in a busy, successful restaurant.

Did you know that volunteering experience looks great on a resume and is an excellent way to gain skills and make meaningful connections? Have you heard of CREAN? They connect students in volunteer placement programs and are looking for awesome youth - like you! Check the Career Ed site under the volunteer tab for more info!

Thinking about attending UVic for post secondary? You should go to Explore UVic! It's happening on Saturday, November 25th from 10am - 5:15pm and it's an on-site full on UVic experience. There will be lectures, student panels, tours, information fairs and more. High school students, transfer students and families are all welcome! 

Interested in a career in supporting the well-being of children, youth, families and communities? UVic is hosting a hybrid open house (online and in person) on Wednesday, December 6th from 4-5pm about their Bachelor of Child and Youth Care Program.

There is an International Pizza Lunch and Program Meeting for all international students TODAY in the Learning Commons at Lunch Block.
