GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Stelly’s Leadership students are hosting a Spring Dance on May 9th with an 80’s theme! Tickets are $5 per person and available in the main foyer during lunch!
The next, and final, Coffee Concert is coming up on Wednesday May 22nd! Audition sign-ups begin this Wednesday, May 8th, and close on May 15th. There is more information on the sheet outside the band room. Please consider joining us - this evening will feature Alumni and Senior performers!
The BIPOC & Allies Club will share candy from Korea and Japan in the foyer today at lunchtime to celebrate Asian Heritage Month. See you then.
There will be a meeting for all students signed up for or interested in the Portugal/Spain trip next year in Ms Lizama's room at lunch on Wednesday, May 15th.
On Monday May 13th, Stelly’s students have the opportunity to help save a life by donating blood during a team donation at Claremont Secondary. Appointments run between 11:45 and 12:35. To sign up, please see posters around the school for a QR code and additional information.

May 21 - PAC Meeting (6:30pm in the Learning Commons). This will be the AGM and monthly meeting wrapped into one evening. Come join us for discussions around funding decisions and conversations on what has been happening and what is coming up at Stelly’s! Everyone is welcome!
ATHLETICS
Come out and cheer on Stelly’s Junior Rugby players today at 3:45 on the back field! The A and B teams are playing against each other and would love to see you there!
GRAD 2024
Stelly’s After Grad Parent Committee is all set up to take your metal recycling from May 6th to 20th! There is a bin in our parking lot (along Stelly’s X Rd) where items can be dropped into any time of the day. If you have larger items that you’d like to donate and need a pickup, please contact Brentwood Auto & Metal Recyclers and tell them it’s for the Stelly’s Grad Fundraiser. Thank you for your support!
Any Grade 12's wanting to learn how to walk in heels, please go to Ms Lizama's room on Tuesday, May 14th at the beginning of lunch! Bring your heels with you!
CAREER CENTRE
The Youth Engagement Program aka "YEP" is offering a Foodsafe Certification Level 1 Training. Cost is $60 for YEP students and $120 for non-YEP students). It's happening Saturday, June 8th from 9am - 4:30pm. Register now!
Sailor For A Day, hosted by the Royal Canadian Navy is happening Friday May 17th. It falls on a Pro D day, so won't be a school field trip but you are encouraged to check it out to try a day in the life of a sailor with the Royal Canadian Navy. Register HERE.
Silver Rill farm on Central Saanich Road is hiring market workers, berry pickers and field workers! White Spot, Beacon Community Services, Mary's Bleue Moon, Fresh Cup Roastery and Small Gods Brewing need line cooks - it's a good time to want to be a cook!
Looking to volunteer? The Northridge PAC is currently planning a Fun Fair May 31st and are looking for high school students to help out with face painting, games, and activities! The shift runs 4-9pm and is sure to be a fun time. Come lend you skills!

COMING UP TOMORROW: COPACS is pleased to host a virtual information session on the topic of SOGI 123 for parent/guardians, students, and staff of the Saanich School District. Leading this presentation will be Dutch, Regional Manager of SOGI 123 and Micha Oak from LGBTQ Corporate Training. The focus will be on understanding the role of SOGI 123 as a resource for education and how to be a good ally in our schools and community. In addition, topics such as 2SLGBTQ+ 101, what to say, what not to say, learning about where anti-SOGI pushback is coming from, and how to support our youth.
