GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Indigenous Leadership students will be selling red dress pins at lunch in the main foyer to raise money for the Lil'Red Dress project. Limited quantities of beaded pins are available for $25. Felt pins are available for $2. Please buy a pin to show your support. 

Stelly’s Leadership students are hosting a Spring Dance on May 9th with an 80’s theme! $5 per person and available in the main foyer starting TODAY at lunch!

We are still missing a lot of Grad forms - if you have not brought yours in and/or completed them online through Grad Google Classroom, please do so immediately. They are a week past due and required!

May 9 - “Back to the 80’s” Stelly’s Dance, 7-9:30pm (tickets go on sale May 1st, $5 each)

May 17 - Pro-D Day (school not in session)

May 20 - Victoria Day (school not in session)

May 21 - PAC Meeting (6:30pm in the Learning Commons). This will be the AGM and monthly meeting wrapped into one evening. Come join us for discussions around funding decisions and conversations on what has been happening and what is coming up at Stelly’s! Everyone is welcome!

GRAD 2024

The next Parent After Grad Meat Draw fundraiser at Brewsky’s will be on Saturday May 4th! Come out to the last draw in support of the Stelly’s Grads from 2-4pm!

CAREER CENTRE

The Youth Engagement Program aka "YEP" is offering a Foodsafe Certification Level 1 Training. Cost is $60 for YEP students and $120 for non-YEP students. It's happening Saturday, June 8th from 9am - 4:30pm. Register now! 

Eurosa Farms in Brentwood Bay is looking for staff during the summer and for Saturdays through the year to work in our cut roses department. Shifts begin at 7am and usually end around 1-2pm. 

Cordova Bay United Church is looking to hire a motivated & hard working student to work in office administration as well as with children and youth over the summer from June 3rd to August 30th. Pay is $19/hr and the chosen candidate will work up to 30 hours a week. 

The District of Saanich is offering a new Leadership program called WYLD, which stands for Willing Youth Leading Diversely. WILD is a mentor placement program for youth interested in leading in their community. It's an excellent stepping stone program for students who are considering a future in Recreation, EEC, Teaching, Social Work, Counselling and more. Click HERE for more information.

Science Venture is a STEM outreach organization at UVIC, and they're looking for Junior Counsellors to join their team of university instructors over the summer. The Junior Counsellor program is a 2 week volunteer commitment working in STEM programs and is a great opportunity for those interested in pursuing STEM as a career. For more info click HERE!

COPACS is pleased to host a virtual information session on the topic of SOGI 123 for parent/guardians, students, and staff of the Saanich School District. Leading this presentation will be Dutch, Regional Manager of SOGI 123 and Micha Oak from LGBTQ Corporate Training. The focus will be on understanding the role of SOGI 123 as a resource for education and how to be a good ally in our schools and community.
