GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

This PRIDE month, did you know that:

  • Toronto Pride — Canada's biggest Pride celebration — dates back to a “Gay Day Picnic” held in 1971. Over the years, larger events were organized, including in Toronto's "Village". But it took until 1991 for Toronto's city council to proclaim Pride Day for the first time.

  • 64 countries still criminalize same-sex relationships, and many countries do not have laws to protect LGBTQ+ individuals from #discrimination in schools or the workplace.

There will be a Spain/Portugal meeting in room 49 on Tuesday, June 18th at lunch hour. All students who are going, or any students who are interested in going, should attend this meeting. See you on the 18th!
