GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
This PRIDE month, did you know that:

A major tipping point for LGBTQ2SIA+ rights in Canada was Operation Soap — when Toronto police raided bathhouses and arrested more than 300 people in 1981. The police violence during these raids sparked mass protests and marches— which is why the Bathhouse Raids are often known as the Canadian equivalent of New York's Stonewall Riots.
We would like to extend a huge CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved with the ‘Puffs’ show last week! Here is a comment shared after one of the shows, which sums it up perfectly: “The kids are hysterical, the dialogue is fast and fabulous, and it pokes fun at all of the ridiculousness of being a tertiary character in one of the most popular series of all time. Great job Ms. Bartlett! It can be a challenge to get kids to settle on a play, come together as a performing community, memorize all those lines and pull it all off with such mastery! You and your kiddos make Stelly's proud. We raise our wands to you!”
There will be a Spain/Portugal meeting in room 49 on Tuesday, June 18th at lunch hour. All students who are going, or any students who are interested in going, should attend this meeting. See you on the 18th!
Just a reminder that today and tomorrow we are running on a Copernican schedule to accommodate the writing of required assessments (the schedule is below).

June 12 - Stelly's Junior Musical Theatre presents: "Oddballs and Outcasts": A musical variety show at 7pm!
Tickets are $5 at the door. Doors open at 6:30
June 18 - Last day of Cafeteria service
June 18 - An Evening of Performing Arts. Performances from Intermediate/Advanced dance, Junior Musical Theatre and Stelly's musicians! Doors open at 6:30, the show starts at 7pm! Tickets are $5 at the door.
GRAD 2024
Hello Grads, Grad parents and guardians - the Dry Grad committee has been working hard on organising a fun evening for Stelly's 2024 grads. More information on the evening can be found here: https://stellysdryaftergrad.square.site. The ppt has a lot of excellent information in it.
Sign ups have already occurred and there have been some times at lunch for grads to pay their $20. Grads can also send an e-transfer (stellysgrad24@gmail.com). Now that information about authorised guests is being sent out, if grads have an authorised guest, payment for their guest to attend Dry Grad must also be completed, please.
We do need help so that the evening can run, please.

Grad Tickets:
Due to high demand, the Graduate Recognition Ceremony tickets are now sold out, however, parents are welcome to follow up with UVic closer to, or on, the 27th to see if there are any extras available. They can be reached at 250-721-8480.
Wednesday June 12 - There is a mandatory grad rehearsal at lunch in the large gym - you must attend!
Wednesday June 12 - Come out to the grad cap decorating event in the amphitheatre after school. Please bring your own decorating supplies!
