GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Looking to learn or improve your French? The Explore program is a 3–5-week intensive French-immersion travel experience during the summer. All tuition fees, lodging, meals, instructional materials, and cultural activities for this amazing program are covered by the Canadian government. Please see Mme Lobb for more information. The deadline to apply is February 6th.

February is Black History Month - Stelly’s will have lots of activities to participate in, including Spirit Days and a scavenger hunt! Stay tuned for details!

Semester 1 Textbooks - we are asking all students to look through their school bag, locker and room for any semester 1 textbooks and return them to the Learning Commons - our semester 2 classes are in desperate need of these!

We are looking for Breakfast Club volunteers on Tuesday mornings from 7:25am to about 8:40am. Please contact Chantal to volunteer or for further information: ilovespices@yahoo.ca

ATHLETICS

Are you interested in playing rugby? Both Jr and Sr Girls are meeting on Wednesday the 31st right after school on the Stelly’s field. Jr and Sr Boys are meeting next week, February 5th and 7th after school on the back field. Come check it out!

3 vs 3 basketball intramurals are starting TODAY at lunch! Teams are to meet in the large gym.

On Thursday February 1st we have 3 home basketball games happening at Stelly’s - come on out and support the teams!

  • Junior Girls play at 4:15pm
  • Junior Boys play at 5:45pm
  • Senior Girls play at 7:15pm

GRAD 2024

Grad Spirit Week is coming up starting Monday February 5th! Monday’s theme is ‘Blue Monday’, Tuesday is ‘Decades’, Thursday is ‘Moms vs Dads’ and Friday is ‘Anything but a backpack’.

CAREER CENTRE

Have you considered moving to the mainland after graduation to attend BCIT? There's an online "Big Info Night" coming up where you have the chance to learn all about the 300 programs offered at BCIT. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 28th to hear from Program Advisors, Student Services and Indigenous Initiatives. Questions? Email events@BCIT.ca.

Camosun is hosting a Student Service Fair at the Interurban Campus on February 13th from 5pm-7pm. This is a great chance to explore the range of services available and partake in some mini-tours of the facilities. Registration isn't required - just show up! 

Mount Newton McDonald's is looking for crew members! Starting wage is $17. McDonald's is an excellent employer who offers skills development, food discounts, flexible hours and a safe, inclusive workspace.

Integrity Sales and Distributors on Keating Cross Road is hiring a sales associate to work weekends. Integrity offers a positive work environment and a $19 an hour starting wage. Job duties include stocking shelves, pricing, and helping customers find products.
