GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Just a reminder that school blocks are looking a bit different this week and running on a Copernican schedule, meaning longer blocks to allow time to complete required work and assessments. Attendance is mandatory for classes this week.
Wednesday, students are in session from 12:00 - 2:35pm (block 3 class), with curriculum completion in the morning.
Thursday, students are in session from 12:15 - 3:05pm (block 4 class), with curriculum completion in the morning.
Friday is a curriculum completion day where students only need to attend if they are in need of extra work time to complete class requirements. Friday is also Literacy 10 and Numeracy 10 Assessments which students have been notified of.
To all SENĆOŦEN students: there will be no classes tomorrow due to assessments taking place.
Thursday January 25th: Semester 1 Dance and Musical Theatre Classes present “An Evening of Performing Arts”! Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7; Tickets are $5 and available at the door.
CAFETERIA CLOSURE: This week, January 22nd to 26th, there will be no food service available. Please come to school prepared with snacks or lunch. We look forward to welcoming you all back to regular cafeteria service on Monday January 29th

ATHLETICS
Congratulations to the Senior Boys Basketball Team who won their game against Vic High last night! It was a great game!
Come out and cheer on your Stelly’s teams at their final home games tomorrow night!
January 25 - Junior Boys Basketball team is playing a home game starting at 4:15pm
January 25 - Junior Girls Basketball team is playing a game at Belmont at 4:15pm
January 25 - Senior Girls Basketball team is playing a home game at 5:45pm
January 25 - Senior Boys Basketball team is then playing a home game at 7:30pm
Are you interested in playing basketball with your friends? If so, 3 vs 3 basketball intramurals are starting January 31st! Sign-up sheets are now outside the big gym on the bulletin board, so go grab 4-5 friends and secure your spot. There are limited team openings, so only the first eight teams to sign up will be included in the competition. Good luck!
GRAD 2024
Stelly’s Parent After Grad meeting has been rescheduled to tonight, Wednesday the 23rd, at 7pm in the Learning Commons. Hope to see you all there!
There is a grad bottle drive coming up on Saturday January 27th from 9am to 12pm in the Stelly’s School parking lot - please save your empties in support of the after grad event!
Have you had your Grad photos taken yet? If not, there is an opportunity coming up January 29th to 31st. These dates are set aside for those grads who have not yet had their photos taken. To book your session, please visit https://schedule.prestigeportraits.ca/schedule/home.html. Please remember to enter Saanichton as the city.

CAREER CENTRE
Field trip alert! PEMO or Peninsula Emergency Measures Association is hosting an open house at the Sidney Fire Hall in March. Date is still to be determined but it will be a day of learning what life is like working in emergency response and what career and volunteer opportunities are available. If you're interested, get your name on the list, the sign up sheet is in the Career Centre. More info to come, stay tuned!
Camosun is hosting a Student Service Fair at the Interurban Campus on February 13th from 5pm-7pm. This is a great chance to explore the range of services available and partake in some mini-tours of the facilities. Registration isn't required - just show up!
The 49th National Student Commonwealth Forum (NSCF) is happening April 28th - May 3rd 2024 in Ottawa. Grade 11's and 12's, if you're interested in Global Issues this is an awesome chance to become a Global Ambassador! This year's focus is Climate Change. Apply now!
