GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Congratulations to all of the students and staff in Senior Musical Theatre who put on 5 amazing shows of ‘Matilda’ that started on Thursday! Outstanding job by all the performers, pit orchestra, stage crew and audio/visual team! And to a huge thank you to all of the adults involved with this amazing performance (Ms. Bartlett, Mr. Ziegler, Ms. Froehler and Ms. Dunabeitia and others who popped in to help out!) - Job well done everyone!!
The Wali Shah Call Me Al book club will meet today at lunch in the Learning Commons.
On Thursday January 23rd, you are invited to “An Evening of Performing Arts”! It is a showcase of performances by students in Beginner Dance, Senior Musical Theatre and Stelly’s musicians in our Multi-Purpose Room. The show starts at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm) and tickets are $5 at the door. We hope to see you there!
As Semester 1 comes to completion on January 31st, we have an adapted (Copernican) schedule beginning on January 27th to allow for assessments to take place. Full details of this schedule can be found here.
Student schedules for semester 2 have now been uploaded to Brightspace and available for viewing. Brightspace is the same platform used to access report cards. If needed, here is a reminder to access/set up a Brightspace account.
From January 27-31, the Stelly’s cafeteria will be CLOSED and therefore will be NO CAFETERIA SERVICE for the week.

Monday January 20th - Junior Boys B play Oak Bay at 4:15pm and the Senior Girls team play at 5:45 vs Oak Bay
Tuesday January 21st - Senior Boys take on Mt. Doug at 7:30pm
Wednesday January 22nd - Junior Boys are playing at 7:15pm vs Mount Doug
Monday January 27th - Senior Girls against Mt. Doug at 5:45pm
Monday February 3rd - Senior Girls take on Esquimalt at 5:45pm

GRAD 2025
Just a reminder to grade 12’s that the deadline for most University applications is January 31st! Come on down to the Career Centre if you need any help completing your application.
BOTTLE DRIVE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for the Grad 2025 Dry Grad Bottle Drive this Saturday, January 25th from 9am-12pm! We are looking for student and parent volunteers. Students can receive 4 hours volunteer time each bottle drive. If you would like to help out, please email Kim at kimmik@telus.net
For any Grad who has not yet had their photo taken, or you require retakes, please book you do need one for the yearbook - please book your sitting now! Prestige will be onsite from January 27th to 29th in room 13 and think to sign up for your spot is available here. You will need to enter the province and city (which is Saanichton) and then proceed by selecting Stelly’s. Please note there is a $30 sitting fee that is payable at the time of your appointment. Graduates must have a photo taken for the yearbook, however, if you only wish to have the yearbook photo taken, the $30 fee will be waived.
SCRAP METAL RECYCLING: There’s a large blue metal recycling bin in the upper parking lot by the street that is awaiting your scrap metal donations. If you have any metal stuff at home, in your yard or in the shed that you want to get rid of, it’s accessible 24/7 for drop-off and proceeds go towards the 2025 Stelly’s Dry Grad!
CAREER CENTRE
Gwaii Engineering is excited to invite students to participate in a day of job shadowing at their office in Victoria. This will be a day-long job shadow, offering students an opportunity to see what it's like to be an engineer/scientist working for an Indigenous-owned civil and environmental engineering company. Please head to the Career Centre to find out how to apply. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 31st.
Butchart Gardens is having their annual hiring fair Wednesday February 5th from 5:30-7:30pm. If you would like to have your resume & cover letter checked over, please see us in the Career Centre.
Tsukino-Con is looking for volunteers February 15-17 at Uvic. Volunteers will receive free/discounted tickets, depending on how many hours they volunteer. If you are interested, sign up here.
