GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Wali Shah ‘Call Me Al’ book club will meet today at lunch in the Learning Commons
Stelly’s Senior Musical Theatre presents “Matilda”! Shows are coming up this week and tickets are still available online here, or purchase them through the main office. The Sunday show is now sold out! We hope you’re able to come out and see the show!
As Semester 1 comes to completion on January 31st, we have an adapted (Copernican) schedule beginning on January 27th to allow for assessments to take place. Full details of this schedule can be found here.
This Thursday, January 16th, the cafeteria will be closed for break and lunch service. Please ensure you have some snacks on hand for morning break - Pizza will be offered for sale during lunch, $3/slice.
From January 27-31, the Stelly’s cafeteria will be CLOSED and therefore will be NO CAFETERIA SERVICE for the week.

ATHLETICS
If you are interested in joining the Girls Rugby team this year, they are having their first meeting on Tuesday January 14th at lunch in room 47.

GRAD 2025
Parents of 2025 Grads! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 15th, from 7-8pm. We will be having an important, on-line, information meeting about the Dry After-Grad event happening on June 26th, 2025. This is a parent only meeting. To receive details on how to join this meeting, and future information about the dry grad event, you will need to join our distribution list by emailing your contact info to: stellysdrygrad@gmail.com. Also, join the Facebook group: "Stelly's Secondary School Parents Dry After-Grad". We look forward to seeing you on January 15th, at 7pm.
Grad photo retakes (& second opportunity if you have not yet had your photos taken) are scheduled for January 27th to 29th. The link to sign up for your spot is available here. You will need to enter the province and city (which is Saanichton) and then proceed by selecting Stelly’s. Please note there is a $30 sitting fee that is payable at the time of your appointment. Graduates must have a photo taken for the yearbook, however, if you only wish to have the yearbook photo taken, the $30 fee will be waived.
SCRAP METAL RECYCLING: There’s a large blue metal recycling bin in the upper parking lot by the street that is awaiting your scrap metal donations. If you have any metal stuff at home, in your yard or in the shed that you want to get rid of, it’s accessible 24/7 for drop-off and proceeds go towards the 2025 Stelly’s Dry Grad!
CAREER CENTRE
Gwaii Engineering is excited to invite students to participate in a day of job shadowing at their office in Victoria. This will be a day-long job shadow, offering students an opportunity to see what it's like to be an engineer/scientist working for an Indigenous-owned civil and environmental engineering company. Please head to the Career Centre to find out how to apply. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 31st.
Butchart Gardens is having their annual hiring fair Wednesday February 5th from 5:30-7:30pm. If you would like to have your resume & cover letter checked over, please see us in the Career Centre.
Tsukino-Con is looking for volunteers February 15-17 at Uvic. Volunteers will receive free/discounted tickets, depending on how many hours they volunteer. If you are interested, sign up here.
