GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Student timetables were distributed this morning in block 1. For those students who do not have a class in block 1, please come to the main office to pick up your timetable. 

Application for most Canadian Universities, including Uvic, for the Fall 2024 intake is quickly approaching on January 31, 2024. Please check your Grad Google Classroom for very important information on upcoming virtual sessions for those interested in attending UVic.

Stelly's senior musical theatre presents "Seussical" January 18th-21st. Tickets are $15. Get the QR code from one of our posters in the school, or they can also be purchased online using this link.

Attention Grade 11 students - Are you interested in a career in medicine, scientific research, or cancer research? Come to a meeting on Thursday, January 18th at lunch in Room 43 to learn about the Deeley Summer Cancer Research Internship at the BC Cancer Agency.

Friday, January 12 and Monday, January 15th we are wearing Black Shirts for Anti-Racism in honour of Martin Luther King's Birthday and to show our commitment to and recognize the struggle for civil rights and freedoms for Black, Indigenous and racialized Canadians.

The end of Semester 1 is coming up quickly! The end of January Assessment Schedule reminder can be found here.  Please note the updated daily school schedule for the week of January 22nd as we will be running on a Copernican schedule.

CAFETERIA CLOSURE: during the week of January 22nd to 26th, there will be no food service available. Please come to school prepared with snacks or lunch. Cafeteria service will resume on Monday January 29th.

January 12 - We wear black shirts

January 12 - Semester 2 timetables will be distributed. This is also the last day to drop semester 1 courses. If students want to drop a class or change a semester 2 course, they must make an appointment with a counsellor

January 15 - We wear black shirts

January 16 - Stelly’s Parent Advisory Council Meeting (all are welcome). We will be hosting an in person meeting in the Learning Commons beginning at 6:30 - hope to see you there!

January 26 - Term 2 Ends

January 29 - Term 3 Begins

January 29-31 - Grad Photo Retakes

February 8 - Semester 1 report cards distributed electronically at 3pm

GRAD 2024

Grad Photo retake days are coming up January 29th to 31st. Information on how to sign up will be in your Grad Google Classroom. These dates are set aside for those grads who have not yet had their photos taken or who are interested in retakes.

CAREER CENTRE

Butchart Gardens is hiring and hosting a Job Fair on Wednesday, February 7th from 5:30 - 7:30pm. They are hiring for various departments including: Food Services, Visitor Services, Custodial Services, Seed & Gift Store, and Gardening. Shifts run 25 hours and up per week and weekend work is required. They are looking for outgoing, dynamic and service focused individuals.

Are you looking for volunteer hours? Interested in Anime culture? The Tsukino-Con Anime Convention is being held at UVic February 23rd-25th and they are looking for volunteers for a variety of positions. Tsukino-Con is a non-profit organization which hosts an exciting and eventful weekend of anime, games, and celebration of Japanese culture! Volunteering looks great on a resume - and this is sure to be super fun!
