GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

The cafeteria will be closed for all service today due to weather and staff illness.

Stingers, please remember to return your text books to the Learning Commons as soon as possible. They are now overdue.

February is Black History Month, and Stelly's will be holding special events throughout the month. Today begins the first event, a poster scavenger hunt with a $40 Starbucks mug as a prize! Check out the Diversity Board across from the library for details, or ask your teacher. You can pick up your entry form from the front office.

The Learning Commons has a display of books to celebrate Black History month. To learn more, please visit the Learning Commons!

Student schedules for semester 2 have now been uploaded to Brightspace and available for viewing. Brightspace is the same platform used to access report cards. If needed, here is a reminder to access/set up a Brightspace account

ATHLETICS

Join us to cheer on the Junior Girls basketball team as they welcome Reynolds today at 4:15 playing on home turf! Then stay to watch the Senior Girls take on Esquimalt at 5:45! Go Stingers!

 

On Tuesday February 4th, the Junior Boys Basketball team are playing back-to-back in the Hive at 4:15 and 5:45 - the opposing teams have yet to be determined.

GRAD 2025

Grad Spirit Days begin on February 3rd with PJ Day! On Tuesday, wear your grad pinnie or a sports team jersey to school; on Wednesday the 5th, wear a grey outfit; dress like you’re from a different decade on the 6th; and dress like Adam Sandler on Friday the 7th! SCRAP METAL RECYCLING: There’s a large blue metal recycling bin in the upper parking lot by the street that is awaiting your scrap metal donations. If you have any metal stuff at home, in your yard or in the shed that you want to get rid of, it’s accessible 24/7 for drop-off and proceeds go towards the 2025 Stelly’s Dry Grad!

 

CAREER CENTRE

 

Butchart Gardens is having their annual hiring fair Wednesday, February 5 from 5:30-7:30pm. If you would like to have your resume & cover letter checked over, please see us in the Career Centre.

 

Tsukino-Con is looking for volunteers February 15-17 at Uvic. Volunteers will receive free/discounted tickets, depending on how many hours they volunteer. Sign up here
