GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

The Learning Commons will be closed today at lunch as we are hosting our 3rd annual Black History Month luncheon, an invite-only event. 

Parents, there’s still time to register to attend this free event: Stelly’s Parent Advisory Council presents: Teenage Sexual Health - Parent Info Night > Island Health's Jennifer Gibson presents an informative discussion about being an approachable adult, Thursday February 29th 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Stelly’s MPR. It’s a free event, however, registration is encouraged for attendance. (To register, click on link here).

Are you in Grade 11 and interested in attending the University of Calgary? There is an opportunity to meet a recruiter TODAY at lunchtime in the conference room. Please see Mr. Berger for more information.

Clubs Day is coming up on Friday March 1st! Come to the main foyer at lunch to learn about all the awesome clubs that Stelly’s has to offer!

ATHLETICS

First Badminton practice will be Friday March 1st from 2:40-3:40pm. We will meet in the large gym. Remember to bring appropriate gym attire.

GRAD 2024

Grad Spirit Week is coming up March 12 - 14! On March 12, the theme is Country vs Country Club; March 13, the theme is Tight & Bright; then on the 14th, dress ‘old’ for Senior Day!

CAREER CENTRE

The Step Up Youth program offers youth aged 15-18 the opportunity to volunteer at their local Island Health facilities. This program is perfect for high school aged volunteers who are looking for an exciting and challenging volunteer role in a healthcare environment. Interested? Come to the Career Centre at lunch on Thursday, March 7th to meet a rep from the organization to learn more!

Careers in Criminal Justice range from police officers to lawyers to social workers. Camosun College offers a two year diploma program, and they are hosting an info session on Monday March 4th from 2:30-4:30pm at their Landsdowne Campus. If you're interested in learning more about this field of work, you should attend!

Volunteers wanted! The Neal Estate Group presents the 25th annual Easter Egg hunt, happening Saturday, March 30th.  We need folks like you to bring it to life! Volunteer duties include helping kids with crafts, hiding eggs, and providing set up/take down assistance. Come lend a hand and have fun gaining skills and having fun!

Yukon Trip Students - All students going on the Yukon trip are asked to go to the international office during the morning break TODAY (9:55 am) to meet with the trip chaperone and SISP principal, Mr. Gray.
