Are you writing an upcoming Waterloo Math contest?  Or do you just like to solve math puzzles and problems?  Work together with others to figure out past problems and learn strategies of approach! Come to room 35 on Tuesdays at lunch.

 

Attention Stelly’s Stingers, do you like to act, dance or sing? Sign up for the last coffee concert of the year taking place on *February 25th*. The sign-up sheet is located outside the band room. Sign-ups close on *February 23rd* so get your name in soon!

 

Attention all Grade 9 and 10 French immersion and FSL students!  Interested in participating in an unforgettable 1-month exchange in Lyon, France, next year and making friendships that will last a lifetime? Come learn about this amazing travel opportunity in Mr Barchen's room (room 11) this Thursday at 11:15. À bientôt!

 

Dear Stingers, this year’s Coffee Concert is taking place on *February 25th*! Come and support the performing arts department and see some amazing performances! The concert starts at 7pm, doors open at 6:30pm, and all entry is by donation. See you all there!

 

Stelly's Social Studies Department is hosting a Teen Town Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 18 in block 3. This is an opportunity to meet and hear from our elected Federal Member of Parliament, Ms. Elizabeth May. Invited classes will be present, but individual students interested in attending should speak to their block 3 teachers to see if they might be given permission to attend. MP May will be taking questions from the audience, but students can also pass questions to any Social Studies teacher and these will be delivered to Ms. May for her response.

 

Next Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day- please wear your pink shirt in support of anti-bullying.

ATHLETICS

Any girls interested in playing soccer this year, there will be a brief meeting at the start of lunch in the big gym.

Those that are interested in joining the Tennis Team, there will be a meeting at lunch in room 22 Friday. See Ms. Miller or Ms. Lizama for more details.

GRAD 2026

 

Grads: it’s time to submit your grad quote! Check the link in the Grad Google Classroom for details and to submit. Quotes are due by February 18.

Grads, are you looking for a dress or tux for graduation? The Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an eco-friendly and inexpensive alternative to grad outfits for boys and girls. They rent out grad wear for a small cleaning fee. Details can be found at www.themagicwandproject.ca.

CAREER CENTRE

 

Butchart Gardens will be holding their annual job fair tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. They are recruiting for spring and summer employment. If you need help with your resume and cover letter, see us in the Career Centre. 

 

The Canadian Armed Forces will be coming to the Career Centre Thursday, February 19 at lunchtime to talk to students about different career opportunities. 

 

Skills Canada Competitions are coming to Camosun March 6th. Show your skills, compete, and have fun!. For a list of events and to sign up, see your Career teacher. The deadline to apply is February 19th.

 

DND is coming to the Career Centre Monday, March 2nd @ lunchtime to talk to students about their paid summer work experience program (FSWEP). Students will be working in unique trades to support the naval fleet.

If you are interested in this program, please come to the Career Centre for an application form. 

 

Any students who are interested in Math or English tutoring opportunities, please visit the Career Centre to add your name to the list.

SISP INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS

Wednesday February 18 - SISP International Program Meeting and Pizza Lunch in the learning commons during lunch block.  We look forward to seeing everyone there!

 

Thursday February 19 - Yukon Pre-Trip Meeting in the learning commons during lunch block.  All students going on the Yukon trip are required to attend.
