GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Today is your last day to sign up for the Stellys Winter Chess tournament. The top three players will win prizes. Sign up is outside room 32.

The Social Justice Club will be holding a bake sale at lunch today in the main foyer. Baked goods can be purchased with cash and all money raised will go towards items for the Holiday Hampers, which will be given to families in need. Come buy a treat and know that your sweet tooth will make someone else's season sweeter!

Just a note to grade 9 families that immunization packages were sent home last week and we are asking for their return as soon as possible, if you haven’t already done so. Even if you don’t wish for your child to be immunized, please return the form, in the confidential envelope provided, to the main office with a note on it.

Block 2 classes are now collecting non-perishable food items for our Holiday Hampers, which support local families in need over the holidays. Please bring your food items to your block 2 class (there will be prizes for the most items collected).

We are also collecting funds and items for emergency kits - these will be included in each hamper given out. Lists of food and emergency kit items can be found in classrooms. Cash donations can be brought directly to the main office. We hope you are able to help us help others!

Are you in grades 9, 10 or 11 and interested in travelling to The Netherlands, Belgium and France in 2027? The Stelly's Social Studies department will be taking students to explore sites connected to Canadian involvement in the world wars. This will include participation in an anniversary event at the famous Vimy Ridge. Please express interest by scanning the QR code posted around the school or by speaking to Mrs. Wallace or Mr. Loenen. There is also a link to the Expression of Interest form here.

We have had many questions regarding assessment dates, so we have included the schedule below. We will be running Numeracy 10 and 12 as well as Literacy 10 and 12 during students’ math and English blocks in January, unless a student is notified that they need to write an assessment to satisfy graduation requirements. Please refer to the Assessment Schedule for up to date information here.
