GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS 

Kindness Drive: Our food banks are being accessed more than ever and we can help.  Block 2 classes are asked to fill a donation box with food items and home basics to help support the Sidney Food Bank.  Check out the posters around the school and on your class donation box for a list of recommended items. All classes that collect a minimum of 10 items will be entered into a classroom draw for PRIORITY seating at the Staff Holiday Show on the 22nd!

Attention Stelly’s Swim team: Our team dinner tomorrow is cancelled due to a conflict with other events. We have a team photo TODAY, Please meet in Mr. Siebert's classroom right at the end of block 2 at 11:15 am.

At lunchtime today, the Social Justice club is hosting a fundraising event to raise funds for AIDs-related projects making a difference to Africans affected by AIDS in Malawi, Zambia, and South Africa. 

What:  Purchase a kit (for $6) and make an angel.  All supplies are provided! Give your angel as a gift, or donate it back to the organization so that further funds can be raised. 

When & Where:  Mrs. Wallace's room (room 30) during lunch tomorrow.

We have some bus cards as well as photo packages available for pick up in the main office. If you ordered a photo package and haven’t received it yet, please come by and check.

CAREER CENTRE

Are you thinking of attending University in Canada's largest, northernmost metropolis? Edmonton's University of Alberta or U of A is running a contest right now and the prize is an all-inclusive trip to U of A to experience student life firsthand. The prize includes airfare, accommodation in student residence, meals, and campus and city tours! Contest is open to Grade 11's and the trip happens May 24th - 26th, 2024. Speaking of contests - Heidi and Katherine have something exciting happening in the Career Centre starting this Friday, December 8th. A Christmas Contest - open to all Stelly's students! They will post a daily Christmas word game clue in the Career Centre, every day until Thursday, December 21st. Ten clues total. Solve them all and you will be entered to win an AWESOME prize!

Deep Cove Elementary PAC is seeking volunteers for their Winter Fair on Friday, December 8th from 3:30-8:30pm. Your duties would include helping to run the games, crafts, etc ... and each volunteer earns five free tickets and free fair entrance!

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadets is open to youth between the ages of 12-18 and teaches teamwork, problem solving, communication .. all through the lens of a maritime focus. Interested? Mark your calendar for tomorrow, December 7th - we will have an information booth and a Sea Cadets representative to answer all your questions in the Career Centre. You should come.

Dollarama in Sidney is urgently hiring part time Store Associates. They are seeking team players to perform general duties in a professional manner.  If you have flexible availability outside of school hours and want to

SISP INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS

Whistler Trip Students - There is a mandatory meeting for all students participating in the Whistler trip TODAY in the Learning Commons during lunch block. 

SISP Christmas Dance - The SISP Christmas Dance Party is this Thursday from 5:30-8:30 pm!  Please make sure you have registered if you plan on attending.  Registration information can be found in google classroom and/or on the event posters.  We look forward to seeing everyone there!
