GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

All grade 11 and 12 Indigenous students are invited to please make their way down to the Learning Commons for the “Strengthening Connections University and College Recruitment Fair”, happening in block 2 today.

Are you interested in wildlife biology, marine biology, outdoor photography, or adventure tourism? Stelly’s alumni Fynn Steiner—kayak guide instructor, National Geographic wildlife photographer, and consultant for the Netflix series Island of the Wolves—will be presenting to Mr. Siebert’s Marine Biology class on Monday, December 15th at 7:15 a.m. See Mr. Siebert for details.

Time is running out to contribute to the Holiday Hampers! We are collecting non-perishable food items for our Holiday Hampers, which support local families in need over the holidays. Please bring your food items to your block 2 class (there will be prizes for the most items collected).

We are also collecting funds and items for emergency kits - these will be included in each hamper given out. Lists of food and emergency kit items can be found in classrooms. Cash donations can be brought directly to the main office. We hope you are able to help us help others!

Holiday Spirit Week is coming up next week! On Wednesday, there will be a Hot Chocolate Station in the main foyer before school (please bring your own mug).  Thursday, dig out your “ugly” sweaters and get ready to show them off on Ugly Sweater Day! On Friday, grade 9’s wear green, grade 10’s wear red, grade 11’s wear white and grade 12’s wear blue (of course). Looking forward to all the festivities next week!

Are you in grades 9, 10 or 11 and interested in travelling to The Netherlands, Belgium and France in 2027? The Stelly's Social Studies department will be taking students to explore sites connected to Canadian involvement in the world wars. This will include participation in an anniversary event at the famous Vimy Ridge. Please express interest by scanning the QR code posted around the school or by speaking to Mrs. Wallace or Mr. Loenen. There is also a link to the Expression of Interest form here.
