GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Stelly’s Leadership students are hosting a Spring Dance on May 9th with an 80’s theme! $5 per person and available in the main foyer starting tomorrow, Wednesday May 1st at lunch!

We are still missing a lot of Grad forms - if you have not brought yours in and/or completed them online through Grad Google Classroom, please do so immediately. They are a week past due and required! 

IMPORTANT DATES COMING UP

April 30th - Mandatory Grad Rehearsal & Valedictorian Speak Off

May 6 - Grade 11 Assembly (in block 1)

May 9 - “Back to the 80’s” Stelly’s Dance, 7-9:30pm (tickets go on sale May 1st, $5 each)

May 17 - Pro-D Day (school not in session)

May 20 - Victoria Day (school not in session)

May 21 - PAC Meeting (6:30pm in the Learning Commons). This will be the AGM and monthly meeting wrapped into one evening. Come join us for discussions around funding decisions and conversations on what has been happening and what is coming up at Stelly’s! Everyone is welcome!

GRAD 2024

Today at lunchtime, there is a mandatory Grad rehearsal if you are attending the UVic ceremony in June. This is happening in the large gym with Valedictorian Speak Off and voting! Please make sure you are there!

Uvic Acceptance Deadline May 1st: Those of you who intend to go to Uvic and have been given a conditional offer must submit your acceptance fee of $250 by May 1st.

The next Parent After Grad Meat Draw fundraiser at Brewsky’s will be on Saturday May 4th! Come out to the last draw in support of the Stelly’s Grads from 2-4pm!

CAREER CENTRE

Another exciting field trip happening at Camosun is Health X Day, where you get to explore dual credit pathways in various health programs including practical nursing, health care assistant, medical radiography and certified medical lab assistant. Forms for both field trips are available in the Career Centre!

White Spot Saanichton is looking for staff, McTavish Academy of Art is looking for a gymnastics instructor, Sea Cider is looking for servers, and Engineering for Kids Summer Camp is looking for STEM summer camp leaders.

COPACS is pleased to host a virtual information session on the topic of SOGI 123 for parent/guardians, students, and staff of the Saanich School District. Leading this presentation will be Dutch, Regional Manager of SOGI 123 and Micha Oak from LGBTQ Corporate Training. The focus will be on understanding the role of SOGI 123 as a resource for education and how to be a good ally in our schools and community.
