GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
In 1999 Blockorama made its appearance as the very first black queer space in the Toronto pride festival. Today it is an all-day dance party and stage during Pride to celebrate Black Queer and Trans history, creativity and activism.
Have you purchased your ticket for the Stelly’s Senior Drama Production of “THE CHOSEN ONE(s)”? Shows are running June 11th, 12th and 13th at 7pm with a matinee at 1pm on June 13th also. Come by the main office to buy yours for just $10 each.
Hey Stingers! Do you have any clothes that you don’t wear anymore and want to give to a good cause? If your answer is yes, drop your lightly worn clothing items off at a designated bin in the Stellys foyer any day between today and June 12th. All clothing items will be donated to Sanctuary youth! Participating in this clothing drive is an exciting opportunity to help out struggling teens in our community!
Do you have gently used kids' books that you don't need? Donate them to the 1000x5 book drive! "1000 by 5" is an organization to help children make a stronger transition into school. Please put your donations in the box that we have set up by the office until June 5th. No books? No problem! Cash donations are always welcome. Thank you, from Global Perspectives 11.
This Saturday, June 6th, join us at Stelly’s Secondary School for a movie night fundraiser supporting the Saanich Peninsula Hospital emergency department. Doors open at 7:00 PM and the movie (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) starts at 7:30 PM. There will be snacks available for purchase at our concession. Come out, bring your friends, and support a great cause!
Attention all students interested in the Europe 2027 trip! There will be an informational meeting this Friday, June 5th at lunch in Room 19. If you're already signed up to travel to the Netherlands, Belgium, and France next year, please join us for exciting updates on the trip. We also still have spots available, so if you're interested in joining this adventure, come check it out — all are welcome!
Parents of the Class of 2027- fundraising for the 2027 After Grad event starts this month! The first monthly bottle drive is Saturday, June 27th, from 9am to noon in the Stelly's parking lot, and volunteers are needed. The Class of 2027 is in need of a coordinator for the 2026/2027 monthly bottle drives. If you are interested, please email the 2026 After Grad Committee: stellysdrygrad@gmail.com, or come to the June 27th bottle drive and talk to the 2026 bottle drive coordinator.
Are you 17 or older and wanting to save a life? (please note the new date) Canadian Blood services will be giving a presentation at lunch tomorrow, June 3rd, in the Learning Commons. Learn how you can become a donor to recipients all over the world - your participation in this event could give a cancer patient a new chance at life. We are excited to see you there!

June 9 - PAC Meeting at 6:45pm in the Learning Commons (this is the LAST PAC meeting for 2025/26! There are positions available for the 2026/27 PAC. No commitment is necessary, just show up to a meeting to see what it’s all about!)

June 12 - Rainbow Day for Pride Month - there will be a bake sale at lunch - stay tuned for details!

GRAD 2026
Have you paid your prom fee ($125) yet? All student accounts have now had it added to pay through the online payment system. If you are attending the prom/dinner dance, please log in to pay as soon as possible - it is now overdue.
Extra (max 2) Recognition Ceremony tickets are now on sale. You must contact UVic Ticket Centre by phone to purchase at 250-721-8480. They are $10 each and sent to your students’ school email address.
Grads - have you ordered your Recognition Ceremony tickets yet? Just a reminder that you have been sent a ticket link to your student email address. It is very important that you check your student school email as this is the communication method used to send your ceremony tickets and confirmations to. Please see their website to purchase your tickets: https://purchase.tickets.uvic.ca. If you need any assistance, please call the UVic Ticket Centre at 250-721-8480.
Grads, the After Grad Committee will be collecting your casual clothes for the After Grad event after the Walk of Honour on June 12th, before school on June 15th, at lunch on June 17th, and after school (3-3:30pm) on June 18th. Please bring a comfortable change of clothes, including shoes, in a bag labeled with your name on one of those days. You'll be thankful you have comfortable clothes to change into after the prom!
Attention Grads - The Ineligibility List has been updated as of June 2nd. Please check it to ensure your student number isn't listed. If it is, you need to see Mrs. Pryer in the office ASAP. This is YOUR responsibility - please don’t assume you are in good standing.
BCTransit is offering grade 12 students free bus rides for any two days in June. The GradPASS program aims to help students consider all transportation options when planning a safe ride home at graduation time, and throughout their lives. Come to the office to get your pass!

The next planning meeting is tomorrow evening, June 3rd, at 6:30pm on the family side at Brewsky's. All Grad parents are welcome.

KELSET Elementary is looking for volunteers to help with their Spring Fair on June 12th from 5-8pm. Earn volunteer hours by running carnival games or helping with set up/take down. Sign up here.
