GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

Just a reminder that today is an early dismissal day, which also means we have an altered bell schedule. You will be dismissed at 2:05 this afternoon.

Do you like writing? Would you like to attend a writing workshop? Susan Musgrave is an acclaimed Canadian writer, poet, and editor who will be hosting a writing workshop at Stelly's on May 29th during blocks 3 and 4. Susan Musgrave has been labelled everything from eco-feminist, from stand up comedian, to poet of doom and gloom, from social and political commentator to wild sea-witch of Canada's Northwest coast. If you are interested in attending this workshop, please see Ms. Pacheco-Mckinnon in the Learning Commons.  There are only 30 seats for this very exciting opportunity.

Many thank yous to our volunteers (students, staff and community members) who showed up to help with collecting donations for the Fill The Hive Food Drive yesterday and to our Central Saanich community for your generous donations - we appreciate your kindness and support! Together, we raised over $900 in cash for the Central Saanich Lions Food Bank!

Grads of 2027! Are you interested in being part of Grad Exec in grade 12? Please come to an information meeting about the role of grad exec and learn how to sign up - at lunch today in room 39.

Grad Exec 2027 will start meeting in May and June of grade 11 to make sure you are ready to kick off grade 12 in September and to provide support (and see what goes on) for Grad 2026 events in June. If you're interested but cannot make the meeting please speak to Mrs Dildy, Ms Tamboline or Ms Hilton for more information and the link to the sign up form.

FROM AFTER GRAD PARENT COMMITTEE

Thank you to everyone who supported Saturday’s Tailgate Market. The event was a huge success for community engagement and raised $2,500 for the Stelly’s Dry After Grad through rentals, silent auction, bake sale, and bottle drive. A special highlight was the talented Stelly’s band students, whose performances brought the market atmosphere to life!

Sales for online 50/50 tickets end tomorrow! This is your last chance to get tickets. The jackpot is over $4000, meaning one lucky winner will receive over $2000. Can we make it to $5000 by end of the day tomorrow?  The lucky winner will be drawn on Friday.  https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/stellysdrygrad2026

Volunteer sign-up for the After Grad Event is filling up nicely, but we still are still in need of volunteers for some of our late night spots.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4EA5A922A7FAC07-52091808-stellys#/

The next After Grad planning meeting is Thursday, May 7, at 6:30pm. We are meeting on the family side of Brewsky's. All grad parents are welcome.

The final meat draw is Saturday, May 9th at Brewsky's from 2pm to 4pm. We are still in need of 2 volunteers. It is always a fun afternoon!   https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/791541028066/false#/invitation
