GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS

 

There will be a lunchtime meeting today in Room 19 for anyone interested in travelling to the Netherlands, Belgium, and France in 2027. Come learn more and ask questions. All interested students are welcome!

 

Today is the last day of the Black History Month celebrations.  All are invited to watch the movie An Ordinary Hero, the True Story of Joan Trumpauer Mulholland in the conference room (rm 67) at lunchtime.  Mrs. Mulolland a Caucasian woman, showed true allyship and courage during the civil rights movement.  The movie will start at 11:25 and go until 1:15, so make sure to let your block 3 teacher know you will miss class.  All are welcome.  The BIPOC & Allies Club will meet in the conference room today at lunchtime (11:15).

The FREE Clothing Rack is overflowing with some great new items. See something you like? Take it and wear it! Lots to choose from so come and check it out - just outside the textiles room!

Every Friday is student discount day for Stelly's students at Scoop and Waffle in Sidney.  Enjoy 10% off your order every Friday from now until June 12th.

The cafeteria will be closed for break today. There will be pizza sales happening during lunch, $3 a slice sold through the cafeteria lines.

Attention Stelly’s Stingers, do you like to act, dance or sing - sign up for the upcoming coffee concert! The sign-up sheet is located outside the band room. Sign-ups close on February 23rd so get your name in soon! And speaking of the coffee concert, come on out on February 25th to support the performing arts department and see some amazing performances! The concert starts at 7pm, doors open at 6:30pm, and entry is by donation. See you all there!

 

Next Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day- please wear your pink shirt in support of anti-bullying.

ATHLETICS

Those that are interested in joining the Tennis Team, there will be a meeting at lunch in room 22 today. See Ms. Miller or Ms. Lizama for more details.

Any students interested in being part of the Stelly's Badminton team should come to the career centre at lunchtime on Monday.

GRAD 2026

Grads, are you looking for a dress or tux for graduation? The Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an eco-friendly and inexpensive alternative to grad outfits for boys and girls. They rent out grad wear for a small cleaning fee. Details can be found at www.themagicwandproject.ca.

CAREER CENTRE

 

DND is coming to the Career Centre Monday, March 2nd @ lunchtime to talk to students about their paid summer work experience program (FSWEP). Students will be working in unique trades to support the naval fleet.

If you are interested in this program, please come to the Career Centre for an application form.
