Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings - Nov. 27th

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This email is to remind you of Learning Updates (aka: student report cards) accessibility and Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings coming up soon.  

 

Student Learning Updates will be available online TODAY, November 20th at 5:00 pm via Brightspace. Parents and students should have created their own D2L Brightspace account to access students’ Learning Updates, schedules, grad status reports, and attendance. For login instructions, please see the Instruction Guide for details and follow them carefully, then proceed by creating an account HERE. If you encounter any technical difficulties or need assistance, please call the school office at 250-652-4401.

 

Our Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings event is on Thursday, November 27th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Math/Science wing at Stelly’s.  

 

The Parent/Student/Teacher online booking system will open at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 24th and will close at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26th.  We are asking parents/guardians to go online to schedule their 10-minute appointment time slot with the applicable teachers. We are also encouraging students to attend the meetings.

Sign In

  • Enter your email address and push the "Next" button. 
  • If you have previously registered you will be prompted to enter your password. If you have forgotten your password, you can select the Forgot Password button, then enter the email address and click on the Send Reset Link button, then the link will be emailed to you.
  • Once you sign in, you will see a list of available events. If there are more than five events happening at the same time, a Search field will appear at the top, allowing you to find a specific event. If you have signed in before and linked your student(s), you will see a list of 'featured events.' These are events that your student(s) is associated with. 

Once you select the Parent Teacher Conferences event you should see your students listed. If you do not or you need to add another student, click on the Manage Students icon. For each student enter in the two prompts that your school requires and click "Add Student". The two prompts are typically a student ID and a birthdate. Continue this step for as many students you need to schedule for. 

  • If you are a new user you will see the message "Your email address is not registered. Please click here to sign up." Click here and a Sign Up Form will appear.
  • Enter your First and Last Name and your password and then click the "Create your Free Account" button to create your account. You will be signed in automatically. 
  • For new users, the Add Student Form will be displayed. Enter the two highlighted prompts below that your school requires and click "Add Student". 

    The Two Prompts: 

    • Student ID: Student’s First Name and Last Name (Together With No Space).
    • Student’s Birthday: DAY/MONTH/YEAR (No Leading Zeros). 
      • ie: 28/6/2008 (June 28, 2008)
      • ie: 4/8/2010 (August 4, 2010)

 

Select Students

  • Once you have your student(s) listed in the Students section, select the "Next Step" button. 

Select Teachers

  • You will see a list of the teachers at the school. Check the box next to the names of the teacher(s) you'd like to book appointments with. Once you have finished, select "Filter Slots".

Scheduling

  • Each square with a plus sign represents an available meeting time. 
  • Click on a square to book that time. 
  • Fill in the Student Name prompt and click "Create Appointment". Appointment would be booked and you will see the confirm message at the top which will disappear automatically.

Repeat until you have a time with each teacher you'd like to visit with. 

 

You can click on the "Printable Schedule" link located on the left-hand side to print a copy of your schedule. 

 

If you want to make appointment changes or cancel your appointment click on the "My Appointments" link on the left hand side. On the right side of each appointment you will see three dots. Hover your mouse to see available options. 

 

For parents who have logged in via mobile phone, select the three bar menu option in the top left corner. Then select the "My Appointments" option to see your appointments. You can now view your list of booked appointments. By selecting the three dots menu button next to each appointment, you'll see the available options.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

 

If you have two or more students at the same school with the SAME teacher

1. Register/Sign in with one parent's name and email address and register

2. Schedule the first student's conference time and log out of the scheduler

3. Register/Sign in with the second parent's name and email address and register. 

4. Schedule the second student's conference time and log out of the scheduler. 

It is not necessary to do this if you have two or more children at the school with different teachers. 

 

 A confirmation email will be sent to you which includes the room location of your meeting.     

 

Please Note: If for any reason you are not able to book the appointment, please contact the teacher for an alternate time to have a conversation. Staff email addresses are their first initial then last name@saanichschools.ca.

In addition, the Global Perspectives 11/12 classes are hosting the Global Gala Fundraiser on the same evening as the Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and available at the door; children under 12 are free.  Enjoy an evening of food, entertainment, and a silent auction, while supporting their humanitarian aid trip to Tanzania over Spring Break 2026.
