GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Waterloo Math Contests: Any students interested in writing a University of Waterloo Math contest in February, please sign up with Mrs. Hilton in room 37 before next Wed Feb 14th.
Students, have you picked up your school bus card? We still have quite a few in the office and they need to be signed for when picked up. Please come to the main office during the breaks or at lunch.
Thursday February 22nd, parents are invited to the District Parent Engagement Evening from 7 to 8:30pm, being held here at Stelly’s. This year's theme is Student success: What's happening in school to support the strategic plan and its four themes? This annual gathering brings together parents and guardians, school and district administrators, teachers and trustees to share information. This evening will be set up like a fair where you can choose from a variety of school conversations. Schools from across the district will be there to share their learning journeys. The event will start and end in the theatre. Registration is not required.
Stelly’s Parent Advisory Council presents: Teenage Sexual Health - Parent Info Night > Island Health's Jennifer Gibson presents an informative discussion about being an approachable adult, Thursday February 29th 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Stelly’s MPR. It’s a free event, however, registration is encouraged for attendance. (To register, click on link here).

ATHLETICS
Junior boys basketball team have a very important meeting today during the break in the gym - please be there!
Girls soccer will be held on Thursday February 15th, Tuesday February 20th and Thursday February 22nd at 3:30pm at Centennial Park.
Anyone interested in playing Badminton this year, come to a meeting this Thursday February 15th @ lunch in the small gym. If you are unable to make the meeting please let Ms. Simpson know ASAP that you are interested in playing.
GRAD 2024
UVic is still accepting undergraduate applications for September 2024 for most programs. Check the EducationPlannerBC website to see if your program is still open and submit your application as soon as possible.
CAREER CENTRE
Are you planning on going on the Peninsula Emergency Measures Association Field Trip on March 5th? Don't forget to get your name on the list and grab a form from the Career Centre!
Ever dreamed of joining the Canadian Forces as a trades person? Have you heard of FSWEP (pronounced "Eff Swep")? It's the Federal Student Work Experience Program and it offers PAID full time summer employment for high school students interested in trades. A rep will be here on Tuesday March 5th to chat with those interested. Mark your calendar now and we will remind you closer to the date.
And the Canadian Forces is coming back to Stelly's to chat to those interested in a career with the forces in trades - there are opportunities to work in a variety of trades - from electricians to pipefitters to machinists - and more! They will be here for the full day doing all kinds of fun stuff - giving you all a taste of army life - that's going down on Tuesday, March 20th!
Do you have your First Aid Certification? Great news! Youth Engagement Program or "YEP" is hosting the course Emergency First Aid with CPR / AED Level C. This in person, fun, interactive one day course is happening at the SHOAL Centre on Saturday, April 6th. Check the poster on the Career Board for more info and how to register!
Looking to volunteer? YEP has an opportunity to lend your services to the upcoming movie night at SHOAL Centre on Friday February 16th. 4-6:30pm.

SISP INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS
PROGRAM LUNCH - There will be a program meeting and pizza lunch for all SISP international program students tomorrow, Thursday February 15, during lunch block in the Learning Commons. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
