GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
A HUGE thank you is going out to Mme Lobb’s grade 9 French class who is now in the draw for priority seating at the upcoming Holiday show! Way to go!
Candy Grams are on sale this week during lunch - $0.75 each or 3 for $2.
Just in time for the holidays our cozy Stelly's clothing order has arrived! If you purchased clothing from our Passion Sports school store, please come down to room 19 at lunch to pick it up.
Kindness Drive: Block 2 classes are encouraged to fill a donation box with food items and home basics to help support our local families. With these donated goods, Leadership students will be putting together hampers for our local families and any extras will be donated to the Sidney Food Bank. If we all give a little it will help greatly. Ideas for items include:
- Cereal, Canned Tomatoes, School Snacks, Juice, Canned Fruit, Pasta Sauce, Cake / Muffin Mix, Helpers (Instant Potatoes / Hamburger Helper), Canned Meat, Pancake Mix
- Diapers, formula, baby food, baby wipes
- Shampoo / Conditioner / Body Wash / toothbrushes
- Socks, mittens, gloves, toques (new/gently used)
All classes that collect a minimum of 10 items will be entered into a classroom draw for PRIORITY seating at the staff Holiday Show on the 22nd! If your family is in a position to support beyond what is mentioned above, please consider a cash donation or a food/Walmart gift card to support our local families. Cash donations can be accepted in the office or can be set up through your child’s online school fees. This would require you to contact Mrs. Youell at dyouell@saanichschools.ca. Gift cards can be dropped off at the office.
We have recently had a district-wide phone upgrade and each staff member is working through some learning curves. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate the new system during the already busy time of year! Due to these changes, you can now call in student absences and lates using our main office phone number (250-652-4401 followed by pressing 1), or send an email using our attendance email (stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca). As always, please include your students’ full name, grade and reason for absence/late.
We have a growing lost and found table by the main office. All unclaimed items will be donated on December 22nd!
