GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Student Information packages were sent home on Monday - if you did not receive yours, please come by the office to pick it up. They do need to be reviewed and signed by a parent or guardian and returned to your block one teacher as soon as possible. If you do not have a block one class, please return the forms to the main office. Thank you.
Here are some dates and events to note:
Thursday September 14th - Early Dismissal at 2:05pm
Thursday September 14th - Meet the Teacher night and BBQ
Friday September 15th - Clubs Day > Join the Leadership team and come find out what clubs Stelly’s has to offer on Friday at lunch time in the large gym
Monday September 18th - School Photo Day
Friday September 22nd - Non-Instructional Day (students are not in session)
EVENTS
Mark your calendar for Thursday September 14th as families are invited to Stelly’s Meet the Teacher Night! There will be a BBQ starting at 4:30, then everyone is invited to the big gym for a welcome assembly. Then from 6-7:15, families are invited to meet the teachers with their student(s) and proceed through their schedule by blocks. And from 7:15 to 8:15, everyone is invited to a learning session about The Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada with Sheralynn Macrae. We hope to see everyone on Thursday!

CAREER CENTRE
Home Hardware in Sidney is hiring PT Sales Associates for after school and weekend work. Drop by in person to their store on Beacon Ave with a resume and cover letter.
Interested in working in communications as a Social Media Coordinator? The Victoria Genealogical Society is hiring a Volunteer Social Media Coordinator to help maintain the VGS's social media channels. Great way to log some volunteer hours and learn at the same time!
Here's another volunteer opportunity for those interested in working in non-profit, and are passionate about youth mental, physical and sexual health. The Saanich Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is looking for volunteers .
Interested in working part time as a tutor? There is a grade 4 student at Brentwood Elementary looking to be paired with a Stelly's student for tutoring in all subjects. Tutoring is a great way to earn money while making a positive impact on a student's educational journey. For more information, please see Mrs. Moore in the office.
