Alexa from the Youth Engagement Program is coming to Stelly's Career Centre over the lunch hour on Wednesday, June 6th. This casual meeting is open to anyone who feels they would benefit from some support crafting their resume, learning volunteer and job skills, and all things training for the work force - FREE of charge. Check the career board for more information!

Last call for volunteers!! Kids art in the park at the Brentwood Bay festival needs help to make their event the best it can be! Volunteers are needed to help lead kids through art activities and take home crafts. This is a fun, family friendly event - sure to be great fun. Check the Beacon Community Services - Brentwood Bay festival poster on the Career Board for more information!

The Greater Victoria Green Team will be doing invasive plant removal and is looking for volunteers. Everyone is welcome and training, tools and gloves are provided. There will also be snacks! Check the poster on the career board to sign up and log those volunteer hours!"

Our neighbor, the Peninsula Country Market at the Saanich fairgrounds is launching for the summer on Saturday June 3rd and needs awesome students like you to help make their event a success! Think: live music, fresh produce, and crafts with kids! Are you artistic and willing to do face painting? Sign up now!

Global Perspectives 11 are currently working on fundraising for a day of baking at Jeneece Place!! Jeneece Place is a non-profit home that provides a place to stay for families with sick kids at Victoria General Hospital. We’re looking for non-perishable baking supplies such as sugar, flour, chocolate chips as well as cash donations. We are accepting all donations until June 8th. The block one class with the most donations will receive a prize for their efforts. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Wallace !



JAZZ IN THE PARK is happening on Thursday, June 1st from 6 to 7:30pm. Stelly’s Jazz combo, vocal Jazz, and Jazz Band! Come on out and join the fun!!

Volunteers needed for Brentwood Bay festival on June 3rd! Do it on your own or bring a group of friends! There are lots of opportunities to help out - pancake breakfast, vendors, entertainers, kids crafts - and more! Rifflandia Entertainment Co is introducing "The Monster", the world's largest inflatable obstacle course, and we need student volunteers to help run it! The dates are June 8th-11th and you receive two free ticket codes for every shift you complete! If you're into music fests and having a great time - jump on this awesome opportunity!


GRAD 2023

GRAD CEREMONY TICKETS  Have you received your GRAD CEREMONY TICKETS YET???  UVic has emailed them to students’ school district email accounts. If you have not received them, please see Jocelyne Pryer in the main office as you are likely missing a Grad Requirement!!!  Extra tickets are on Sale NOW and are available by calling UVIC TICKET CENTRE at 250-721-8480 or in person.  Extra Tickets are $10 each and can be paid with Visa or M/C or in person by Cash & Debit as well.


Victoria Foundation has generously provided a $30,000 grant to our Youth Access Fund to enable youth in Victoria, BC to attend Outward Bound Canada (OBC) courses on full scholarships applicable for our 2023 summer expeditions.

STUDENT WORKS PAINTING is hiring summer painters now. Starting wage is $20/hr and earn up to $30/hr once trained. Painting is a great skill to learn, it's satisfying work, fun to be outdoors and working with friends is encouraged.

B & C FOOD is located on Keating Cross road and is looking for warehouse workers. Starting wage is $18/hr and no experience is necessary. Part time and full time shifts are available (over summer). General duties include warehouse tasks and there is room for advancement. Apply now!

TIM HORTONS IN SIDNEY is hiring reliable and energetic staff to join their team at the Beacon Ave location in Sidney. They offer staff meals, health care benefits, and a friendly environment. Come to the Career Centre and grab an application and drop it off with your resume - they are short staffed and hiring now!

SAMUAL BARCLAY PAINTING is looking for door to door canvassers to source leads for paint jobs. This is a great way to enter into the world of sales by building confidence and sales skills. It's a part time position with flexible hours offering $20-$27 dollars an hour. If you're enthusiastic and have strong communication skills this could be an awesome part time gig!
