Coldest Night of the Year
Led by students from the Global Perspectives 11 class, Stelly's participated in the Coldest Night of the Year on Saturday, Feb. 22. In spite of the weather, 40 students, staff, community members, and several dogs joined in a symbolic walk to Brentwood Bay to remember the many people in our area who do not have adequate shelter from the weather or the effects of poverty. Through sponsorship, we raised $890.00 to be donated to Our Place Society to help them in their work to meet these needs. This annual event has become an important part of our Global Perspectives and Leadership classes and, while it was interesting to participate in the Pandora Ave walk last year, we were happy to be back on the peninsula walking in our community. We are looking forward to an even bigger event next year on February 28, 2026! Donations to Our Place through sponsorship of our students can still be made until March 31, 2025 at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=1024398&langPref=en-CA
